Activity Description

This tours sees one taking a journey to a local genuine village, naturally passing other villages and life styles along the way. The 20km trip takes you through an array of natural rural setups of the local people where they will be going through their natural daily routines. This gives guests an appreciation of local culture from food setup to simple but effective traditional ways of survival.The tour enables the client to see rural life first hand; visiting rural homes, watching their fields being tended and possibly getting the chance to help in some of the day-to-day chores. The village Chief will be at hand to answer t any questions as well as explaining the best of African culture.
The Boma is open for dinner from 7.00pm until late 365 days of the year.
The Boma is in a Gusu Forest and is partly open to the spectacular African night skies. A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates Shangaan dancers and singers and a local fortune teller. Guests are welcomed with a traditional greeting in Shona and Ndebele, the local languages. They are invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks, as a prelude to dinner.
After dinner, guests are invited to wile away the evening with the restaurant’s very own Sangoma – a traditional storyteller to learn more about the country’s folklore, culture, and heritage.

Guests are able to gain an insight into Zimbabwean rural life. This enables visitors to understand the cultural aspect of this life style and allows them to interact with different cultures, often for the first time.
This is a good experience for children.
